Honestly they do bad business they phish and withhold your masters on basis of “free hour “ I was constantly messaged for a year finally go and this is what transpired . I will not be returning ever. I drove 2 hours and was met with an attempt to finesse me. I used to sell timeshares at least you got what you signed up for regardless. Honestly should file a class action

I’m going to be perfectly clear so that there is no confusion. The Spot is not transparent in their policies and needs to embrace integrity, which is lacking from my experiences with them.

The Spot maintains to offer a free trial hour to various artists, and they have been contacting me for several months via Instagram, so I decided to book an hour. I was told if I wanted an extra hour it would be $50 but that was it, and mixing and mastering was included. Well I’m not naive and I know if it’s too good to be true, it is. And it kept bothering me, so I called and I tried to see why I felt uncomfortable.

I asked, “So I know that the first hours is free and that the second is $50 and that includes all mixing and mastering… and… that’s it right?” And he said “yeah that’s basically it”- so I said, “Okay, and you’ll just… provide the files after the session and that’s it?” And he said, “SOMETHING LIKE THAT.” ?Excuse me? I said what do you mean? If im recording and doing work, I’m leaving with my work. And he said “well if you like it, then we charge $50 a track.”

I got news for y’all. Had y’all been transparent and honest and had integrity I probably would’ve done this! Seriously, I would’ve. But since y’all were manipulative- and since y’all did this a dirty way, yeah I canceled. I will work with my producer. I will work with my team that I trust. Trust is everything.

And y’all should probably consult an attorney about your practices because I don’t think there’s anyway it’s legal to bait and switch like that or not be transparent regarding copyrighted material being created. Oh, and free advice? Fix your social media bc it sucks.

For several months this company’s Instagram accounts (they have eight) have been following me and sending messages asking me to come their studio in West Hollywood for a free recording session. I do not know why because I’m not a singer or musician, and no where near California. I’m actually in the Midwest. Not sure if their accounts are hacked or their accounts are set to robo messages or they’re scam artists. Whatever it is, it’s annoying and I’m tired of them following me on their multiple accounts and sending me spam messages after I expressed I have no interest. This company needs to get a hold of their business and marketing practices before they catch a case.
