I am a photographer who needed mat boards and clear bags to sell my photos at a local store. I found Stu-Art Supplies quite by accident through a google search and ordered from them the first time in April 2022. Then I ordered again and again and again. :-). First I will comment on the actual products. I usually buy the economy mats and backing boards and they suffice for my needs.-The quality of what they sell is significantly better than what you'd get at Amazon. The mats are firmer and all cut perfectly. The backing boards are not frayed at the edges and the clear as glass bags don't break when you insert a matted photograph. Everything is shrink wrapped and packed for maximum impact - perfectly preserving the integrity of the product and ensuring no harm comes to it during the shipping process. Amazon sells art supplies as an adjunct to their main business of selling everything. Stu-Art sells frame/art supplies as their main business. You get what you pay for. :-). Now I cannot end this review without going into their customer service. I've spoken with Lisa the owner several times over the last couple years. She is friendly, always willing to give advice as to what supplies I should get and consistently lets me know when it would be smarter to buy more or less of an item to lock in the best possible price. She's always quick with a recommendation as well for things I might need to complement my original intent. The customer service could not be better. If you want the cheapest price and the cheapest product and don't mind lining the coffers of the big boys, definitely be my guest and order from Amazon or other big corporate store, but if you want good products and care about community by supporting small/family/individually owned businesses as opposed to corporate behemoths then you won't be disappointed ordering from Lisa and Stu-Art.

I've ordered matting supplies from Stu-Art Supplies several times now, and I have been very happy with them. The quality and price of their art materials is excellent! I also have to give Stu-Art major kudos for their shipping/packaging expertise. I receive a lot of shipments from many businesses, and I must say that hands down, Stu-Art does the most professional boxed shipments! Their packaging is well designed, extremely sturdy, and all products carefully labelled and packaged. Each time a box arrives from their NY store to here is Southern California, the box itself never has any sign of openings or dents/crushing. It is that robust. I highly recommend Stu-Art Supplies.
