I can't say enough good things about our experience with Luke and Reel World Filmmakers. I hired Luke to cover a choral performance tour we hosted in Honolulu and right away I was impressed by attention to detail. Luke asked the right questions upfront, worked with me to build a "story" around what we wanted to capture, and really went with the flow when our shoot days changed a bit. Communication was on point, and we are very pleased with the 2 minute video and set of photos as the final product we can't wait to use in future marketing collateral. I hired Luke again recently to produce a 30 second video ad for us and he hit it out of the park, delivering the product a week early. I found Luke because I wanted to do an hour long documentary. I am 17 years old and am working towards my Stars and Stripes award in American Heritage Girls(Eagle Scout equivalent award in Boy Scouts). I decided for my project I would do a documentary highlighting different women’s religious communities in the Catholic Church. I had never done anything like this before.

When I met Luke for the first time, he was extremely nice, energetic and accommodating. Originally, we had slotted for a three hour max meeting. Luke was very generous with time and we ended up spending about three and a half hours making a storyboard, narrowing the purpose, audience, main ideas and establishing specific details for the filming days. I wanted to have little children involved, ranging from ages 5-12. He was open to my ideas, a very good listener, and was personally invested in this project.

When it came to the filming days, Luke was very easy to work with. He was able to create an authentic environment which really showed up well on camera. Instead of controlling the interviews or interactions, he let them come naturally. He was very good at bringing out best in the very energetic and often distracted children involved in the project and keeping them engaged. The girls involved loved his energy and found him very funny.

When it came to the editing stage, Luke was very punctual in his edits and gave me a vimeo link to leave comments on. He was also very flexible with time and we had zoom calls quite often. I wanted to add animations in the documentary and he was able to get someone to do that.

I would definitely recommend Luke! It was such an awesome experience working with him. I learned a lot and am so glad I was able to meet him and benefit from his amazing artistic talent

On another note, the video was received very highly among the community, both in Hawaii and on the mainland. It received many compliments on how professionally and artistically done it was, and how well it told the story of Hawaii’s religious sisters, which was EXACTLY what I had in mind! Thank you SO much Luke!!!

I have been planning and coordinating weddings and events for over 23 years and have had the privilege of working with some of the best vendors in the business. Luke of Reel World Filmmakers, tipped the scales toward excellence.
When coordinating only, I don't always get to choose the vendors I work with, this always makes me hyper alert and ready to handle "issues". I was very pleasantly surprised when first meeting Luke. He asked meaty questions and I could tell he was completely invested in the day. Moving with ease throughout each transition and multiple homes, where the wedding was held, while keeping the bridal party engaged and cooperative is a real talent, and he seemed very comfortable with the whole process. I should also mention he is very flexible and up for anything. I would say he's definitely a team player and with weddings, this is easily one of the most important qualities in a vendor. We so appreciate his skill and fun personality. I can't wait to work with him again.
